Our Church Life

Our church today has a core membership of around thirty, which is supplemented by an ever changing flow of tourists, students and others who are here for a short time. The numbers have at times been up to a hundred at special services. We are multi-cultural and multi denominational with members from many countries and a strong African community.

We have a service at 11 am every Sunday in the Chapel of the Diakonie set in the grounds of a hospital and senior residential home, at which we like to celebrate Holy Communion. After service coffee and cake fellowship takes place every Sunday and is a lively gathering. There is also a pre-loved book table where members of the congregation can browse and take a book for a nominal fifty cents.

On Saturday evenings there is ‚The Mountain of Mercy‘ prayer meeting at 7 pm also in the Chapel.
On Thursdays we have ‚Sacred Space‘ where a flexible group of us meet in town for coffee/lunch/cake and a get together.

We traditionally celebrate Thanksgiving with a pot-luck meal in November with a large gathering of congregants and friends.

Throughout the year we also have special occasion meals and gatherings.

We have in the past also had film evenings and a book club which we are hoping to revive. Sunday School is offered dependent on the numbers and ages of those present at service.
